Mid-Level Interior Designer

DLA+ is accepting applications for a Mid-Level Interior Designer. The successful candidate will provide design support to the Senior Interior Design staff for completion and execution of design projects; while contributing to the project design, delivery, profitability and client satisfaction.


You will be part of a highly creative, collaborative design team dedicated to innovative problem solving and excellent design skills.  Project types will include but not be limited to commercial corporate, government, healthcare, higher education, sports and retail.

This is a full- time mid-level position. Salary is based on and commensurate with candidate’s experience and qualifications. Position Specific Responsibilities
Perform interior design assignments that include the documentation of conceptual design, schematic design, and design development and construction documents under the direction of Senior Staff
Collaborate with Senior Interior Design staff
Support and assist in the development of space planning concepts and the creation of program documents
Develop 3-D renderings and images of conceptual design
Produce Construction Documents, including but not limited to; finish plans, furniture plans, interior elevations, finish details and millwork elevations and details
Assist the Senior Interior Designer with the coordination of the Interior Design scope on Construction Documents prior to issuing for bid and or permitting
Assist in selection of furniture and produce specifications, assist in the preparation of furniture budgets, coordinate and evaluate competitive bids and coordinate installation and delivery
Assist Senior Interior Designers in meetings with furniture dealers, product representatives, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives
Assist in the review of Shop Drawings and Submittals
Coordinate with graphics staff to create presentation quality renderings
Participate in project team meetings and design reviews
Assist with project team coordination for finish plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction

Minimum Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an Accredited School
1-2 years of Commercial Interior Design experience
General knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, and generating specifications
Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
Computer skills to include Revit and Autocad as well as Photoshop
Flexibility to focus on a single client with a variety of project types or multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of development
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to communicate design ideas and direction quickly
Proficient in Autocad, Revit, 3-D programs, SketchUp and other modeling software programs
Proficient in Creative Adobe Suite applications, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator
Actively working toward NCIDQ certification
Other knowledge, skills and abilities
Proficiency with MS Office
Must be able to work to a work plan / level of effort project plan for project delivery
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Possess the ability to work well independently and as part of a team
