Project Challenges and Outcomes

Challenges

Complete interior improvements to the first floor of the football training facility located at the UMPC Rooney Sports Complex including the weight room, locker room and entry hall. The project would be completed on a tight schedule to allow the spaces to be accessible to the team at the start of the season.

Outcomes

DLA+ provided design and documentation services for this renovation. The entry hall was the main corridor for the first floor space and leads to the weight room, training area and locker room. To add emphasis to this prominent corridor a lighted wall and ceiling feature and mounted televisions were added and wall finishes were updated that would provide a backdrop for updated graphics. In the weight room, an expansion into the current locker room space provided the needed additional space for the team. Due to the weight room expansion, existing team lockers were reused in the reconfiguration of the locker room. This new layout allowed for the addition of a small team lounge area which included seating areas, media and gaming area that was defined by a ceiling feature.
