DLA+ Sports Practice Leader Talks Esports in Auditoria Magazine
DLA+ Sports Practice Leader, Sunghoon Jung, LEED AP BD+C, was recently featured in Auditoria's 2023 Annual Showcase. The issue's feature article, Game On!, focused on esports and the unique factors that go into developing live event venues for the growing esports industry. Two recent DLA+ esports projects are also featured in the article: Busan Esports Arena in South Korea and Park Arena (not yet built).
In the feature article, Jung answers the question of why not stay at home, why go to an arena to play esports? "The funny thing about this kind of sport's fans is many times they feel the inconvenience is not a huge factor prohibiting them from coming to the stadium and arena. They enjoy those types of inconveniences - bumping shoulders and standing in queues. They enjoy sharing the game and shouting together. The virtual expereince cannot replace that." Jung doesn't believe you can replace the live experience.
