Penn State East Halls Project Hits Halfway Mark
It’s official, more than half of The Pennsylvania State University’s East Halls residence halls have been renovated or built. DLA+, with Clayco and Mackey Mitchell Architects, was selected as part of the design-build team to transform the residence hall campus at Penn State. The multi-year project will have a total of fourteen renovated halls and two new halls, housing more than 4,5000 freshman.
Starting in 2014, we now have eight residence halls under our belt – two new halls and six renovated halls. The project still has three more years to go and eight more residence halls to renovate. The newly renovated buildings have seen a 75% reduction in student requests to move out of East Halls, a big win for both Penn State housing staff and students.
